French Pass is a nasty stretch of water at the very top of the south island. At high and low tide the pull between a nearby bay and the ocean creates swirling whirlpools that have sucked many ships under. We spent a week there volunteering on a wwoof farm.

-A startled lamb along the road

-The boats waiting in Admiralty Bay

-Mussel farm tentacles

-Our dingy on the beach

-Evening light on Admiralty Bay

-Warming light looking back our host's house. The entire house ran off a homemade hydro-power system in the ravine behind the house

-Herb, our host, driving us to French pass.

-Dusky dolphins bowriding on the front of the boat.
